Meeting

NIHR’s Council of Commissioners held its second regular meeting on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the NIHR headquarters at the Seef District under the chairmanship of HE Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul. The meeting was devoted to discussing the NIHR’s administrative and financial report for the fiscal years 2011 and 2012.

The meeting began by a presentation by the external auditor (representative of Ernst & Young) of the financial report, and it was concluded that the audited financial statements are in accordance with the statutory records of the NIHR.

Following the discussion of the financial and administrative report of Secretariat-General, the Council reviewed all the local and international events and activities in which the NIHR participated since its creation, including headquarters renovation and furnishing, completion of financial and administrative programs, recruitment procedures, and various courses in addition to the finalization of all NIHR’s financial and administrative regulations, including procedures for receiving and dealing with complaints from citizens and residents.

After the discussion, the Council decided to approve the external auditor’s financial and administrative report of the Secretariat-General, considering that the external auditor’s conclusion that the audited financial statements are consistent with the NIHR’s records, and consistency of financial and administrative performance, according to the report of the Secretariat, with the amount of the work achieved to allow the NIHR to carry out its duties as stipulated in the Royal Order that created it, reveals the professionalism of those working in the NIHR’s Secretariat-General.

At the end of the meeting, the Council of Commissioners decided to hold an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 to discuss a number of topics arising from members’ proposal. It was also decided the third regular meeting would be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.
