NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up convenes its 32nd Regular Meeting

The 32nd regular meeting of the Complaints, Monitoring, and Follow-up Committee, chaired by Mrs. Rawda Al-Aradi and including Mr. Ahmed Al-Saloom, and Ms. Dina Abdelrahman Al-Ladhi.

The meeting commenced by reviewing the outcomes of the meeting held with the Minister of Education in the presence of NIHR Chairperson and representatives from the committee, with the aim of discussing several issues related to the right to education. In the same context, the committee emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the parties to ensure the respect for human rights in the field of education within the kingdom.

The committee then examined a document encompassing the overall decisions and previous recommendations, and proceeded to assess the actions taken in response to them.

Concluding its activities, the committee reviewed reports concerning complaints received through the Nihr call center, provided legal assistance, and monitored cases via media and social platforms between February 25 and March 19, 2024, totaling (22) cases encompassing complaints, legal aid, and identified instances. Furthermore, the committee scrutinized content across various social media platforms concerning human rights situations, along with recommendations regarding attendance at trial sessions to ensure fair trial guarantees, leading to appropriate measures being implemented accordingly.
