NIHR’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Convenes its 31st Regular Meeting

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up has convened its 31st regular meeting at the NIHR’s Headquarters in the Seef District under the chairpersonship of Mrs. Rawdha Salman Al-Aradi and membership of Mr. Khalid Abdulaziz Al-Sha’er, NIHR’s Vice-Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Subah Al-Saloom.

The meeting started with the committee reviewing the reports related to complaints received by the call center and the institution, along with the legal assistance provided and cases observed through media and social media platforms for the period from January 23 to February 21, 2024, totaling 29 cases, including various complaints, legal assistance, and observed cases. Additionally, the committee reviewed a summary of its previous decisions and recommendations and followed up on the actions taken regarding them.

During the meeting, committee members engaged with multiple complainants, particularly from families of inmates in rehabilitation and correctional facilities, to evaluate their circumstances, gather feedback, and address their requests, in line with the institution's mandate to offer support and aid.
