NIHR organizes the 4th Session of “My Rights” Programs for the Public-Sector Employees

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in partnership with the Bahrain Institute for Political Development and the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, organized the 4th session of “My Rights” programs for the public sector employees, at its headquarters in Seef district, which lasted for two consecutive days, lectured by Mrs. Lateefa Al-Jalahma, Director of Legal Affairs and Training, and Mr. Mohamed Al-Najjar, Head of NIHR’s Legal Affairs Unit.


The first day focused on the role of the national human rights institutions in the promotion and protection of human rights.  The main themes were:  a historical overview of the national human rights institutions and their position in the State system, the Paris Principles and the accreditation system, and the NIHR and its role in the Kingdom of Bahrain.


The second day focused on the theme of “the mechanism of research in electronic references and sources relating to human rights”, which highlighted the importance of electronic resources and their place in the area of human rights, identification of the most important websites relating to human rights issues and the best ways to choose them, and knowing how to take advantage of these sites and extract information from them.


The training course aims to create national cadres to assess the national visions of the concept of human rights by assessing performance in comparison to international standards and obligations of the Kingdom of Bahrain to develop and support mechanisms for human rights protection within the framework of the implementation of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sustainable development objectives.
