NIHR organizes a Videoconference Lecture on Standards of Announced and Unannounced Visits to Correction and Rehabilitation Centres

As part of the activities and training programs organized by the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) based on its role in spreading a culture of human rights among various community groups in accordance with national and international standards, and in implementation of its strategy and action plan, the NIHR has organized a videoconference lecture on the standards of Announced and Unannounced visits to the correction and rehabilitation centres.

The lecture was presented by Mr. Khaled Abdulaziz Alshaer, NIHR Vice-Chairperson, by videoconference, where he made a brief to NIHR and its terms of reference.  He also introduced detention and rehabilitation centre and addressed the legal framework and standards of visits, prisons and detention places as well as the basic principles for the treatment of prisoners.

The training program targets university students in Bahrain or abroad who want to have practical training as well as individuals and researchers who want to understand NIHR’s mechanism of action.
