NIHR Organises a Workshop on Dealing with Child Complaints

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has organised a workshop on dealing with child complaints, at the NIHR headquarters in Seef district, with the participation of Chairman and members of the Council of Commissioners and NIHR Secretariat-General employees.

The workshop was presented by a number of experts in the field of justice, judicial system and restorative justice approaches for the children in North Ireland, in which they discussed how to deal with children’s complaints, promote their rights and protect them from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence as stipulated in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and other human rights conventions.

The workshop also discussed the requirements for a complaints system for children, the preparation of facilities and complaints reception rooms to be child-friendly, and the type of training required to deal with the mechanism for receiving children's complaints.
