30 Jun 2019

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), in cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defense, organized a lecture for staff at the NIHR’s Secretariat-General on first aid and how to deal with emergency cases. The lecture was delivered at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef district.

The lecture included a definition of first aid and methods of immediate and temporary care received by a person as a result of sudden exposure to an emergency health condition that may lead to bleeding, suffocation, fractures, fainting or other cases until the arrival of the ambulance and taking him/her to hospital for treatment.

The lecture, which was given by Head of Sergeants, Mohamed Salman, trainer of first aid at the Civil Defense School, addressed first aid objectives of preserving a patient's life, preventing deterioration of his/her condition and helping him/her to recover, and provided practical application of Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and artificial respiration.
