National Institution participates in cognitive visit to Northern Ireland

Delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights participated in the cognitive visit organized by the Causeway Institution for Peace-Building and Conflict Resolution International Under the auspices and support of the British Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the period from 9 to 14  November 2014.

 The visit was characterized by a variety of activities including field visits to many civil society organizations, interposed by a number of lectures, workshops, visits to historic sites, touching on the history of the conflict in Ireland, and a visit to an old prison that witnessed the era of conflict, then the delegation visited the parliament building and was briefed on the history of its inception followed by introductory lecture on the evolution of parliamentary life in Northern Ireland.

A meeting was also held with a number of representatives of civil society organizations, where they talked about their experiences when they were parties to the conflict.

 

The delegation also visited the National Commission for Human Rights headquarters in Northern Ireland, in addition to the Equality Commission.

Both Mr. Fahad Almualla, Director of Information Technology Department and Mr. Yaqoob Yusuf Al-Hamad, director of financial and human resources management in the National Institution took part in the visit.
