Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), stated that that the implementation of the Wage Protection System has contributed significantly to private sector organizations’ commitment to timely payment of wages, and at the same time enabled the licensing body (Labor Market Regulatory Authority) to monitor their commitment to timely pay employees’ wages in full pursuant to the laws and conditions stipulated by the Labor Law.

This was on the sidelines of the completion of the first phase of the Wage Protection System Project announced by the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, where Al-Derazi praised the tireless efforts made by the government to improve the work environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain through the continuous updating of laws and legislation related to the business sector, which are not just related to wages, but rather extends to housing and health and occupational safety requirements.

Al-Derazi affirmed NIHR’s support for everything that would preserve the rights of employees and employers and all that would enhance the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain at the regional and international levels as a destination characterized by regulations and laws that preserve employees’ rights, calling at the same time on employers to take the initiative to facilitate procedures related to the implementation of the Wage Protection System.
