The Chairman of NIHR received the Chilean Ambassador and European Union Ambassador to Bahrain at the headquarters in the Seef District.

The Chairman of the National Institution for Human Rights, His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul, received the Chilean Ambassador to Bahrain, Ambassador John Paul Tarod at their headquarters in the Seef District.

Dr. Abul thanked the Ambassador for the visit and expressed a desire to exchange expertise between the two parties, especially in the field of human rights and organising training workshops in the area.

The Ambassador thanked the NIHR and its role in society, which is aimed at promoting human rights. He also praised the Second Annual Report of the National Foundation for 2014, and expressed his readiness to provide all support to achieve its objectives and terms of reference.

The NIHR’s Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Committee Chairman, Farid Ghazi; Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Chairperson Maria Khoury, and Director of Management Training and Education Ali Jassim Al-Bahar, attended the meeting.

Dr. Abul also met European Union Ambassador to Bahrain, Ambassador Adam Kolakh and discussed the activities and events of the NIHR at the local, regional and international level with him.

He said the NIHR was keen to enhance cooperation with prestigious international institutions who hold experience in the areas of human rights, and to do so through organising workshops, training courses, lectures and seminars.

The Ambassador expressed appreciation for the NIHR’s efforts to contribute in the promotion and dissemination of a human rights culture in Bahrain and expressed his readiness to provide all support for it to achieve its objectives.

NIHR Vice-President Abdullah Ahmad Alderazi, and Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Vice President Maria Khoury, were present at the meeting.
