NIHR receives Ambassador of Yemen

The Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), HE Ms. Maria Khoury, welcomed the visit of His Excellency Dr. Ali Hassan Al-Ahmadi, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to the Kingdom of Bahrain.  During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways of mutual cooperation in the area of human rights promotion, protection and development to harmonize with international charters and instruments, pointing out the NIHR’s important role, through its branch in the Expatriate Workers Service and Support Center of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, in addition to the need to Brief Bahrain’s residents on their rights through the role entrusted to the NIHR in its Incorporation Law, aiming to spread the culture of human rights, receive and examine complaints on human rights and refer the matters to the competent bodies with effective follow-up.

For his part, Ambassador of Yemen expressed his thanks and appreciation for the NIHR’s role and efforts to promote and spread the culture of human rights, pointing out the Embassy’s readiness to cooperate and provide all support to achieve human dignity.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdulla Alderazi, NIHR’s Vice Chairman.
