NIHR receives UK Regional Director for Consular Affairs
Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), met with Mrs. Helen Gates, Regional Director of Consular Affairs in the United Kingdom, in the presence of Mrs. Wasmiya Ali from the British Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The parties discussed the possibility of organizing a workshop on the role of the NIHR in promoting and spreading the culture of human rights for a number of the foreign embassies in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Chairperson of the NIHR is expected, at the last week of March 2019, to give a workshop, which falls within the scope of the NIHR’s work, to define its functions and its role to promote human rights, in accordance with the its Incorporation Law, since the promotion of the culture of human rights is one of the main pillars upon which the MIHR depends in the dissemination of the culture of human rights, as well as its important role in providing support to all residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in light of its mutual and joint cooperation with the bodies and institutions related to its work in the area of human rights in general.
