NIHR receives Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross
Ms. Maria Khouri, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Mr. James Linz, delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Mr. Abdullah Al-Derazi, NIHR’s Vice Chairperson, and Dr. Aisha Mubarak, Head of NIHR’s Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Khouri welcomed the delegate’s visit and expressed her appreciation for the role of the Committee in establishing and spreading the culture of human rights and developing the skills and capacities of staff in this area, stressing NIHR’s desire to activate cooperation between the two sides, especially in the area of exchange of expertise and training on the promotion and protection of human rights.
For his part, Mr. Linz expressed his deep appreciation for the good reception, praising the NIHR’s efforts in promoting and spreading the culture of human rights in Bahrain, expressing his readiness to cooperate and provide all means of support to achieve common goals.
