NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Places of Detention and Facilities Conducts an Inspection Visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex (Emergency Department)
In line with the broad mandate granted to the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) in the field of protecting and promoting human rights, and the jurisdiction granted to it under the provisions of its Establishment Law, the NIHR’s Committee on Visiting Places of Detention and Facilities conducted an inspection visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex – Emergency Department on October 04, 2022 in order to find out the requests and observations of workers and patients, and ensure the extent to which they enjoy their rights guaranteed under national legislation and international human rights standards.
During the visit, the NIHR’s delegation was briefed on the building and facilities equipped to serve the Department’s auditors, and met with a number of workers and patients separately, who were randomly selected, in order to take their notes. The NIHR states to the concerned authorities the importance that patients and workers in the health sector enjoy their guaranteed rights.
