NIHR receives the Chargé d'Affaires at the US Embassy

Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), has received in her office at the NIHR Headquarters in the Seef District Mrs. Margaret Nardi, Chargé d'Affairs at the US Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Mr. Khaled Alshaer, NIHR Vice-Chairperson, where she welcomed her and praised the level of friendship and cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America.

Ms. Khoury presented an overview of the NIHR’s recent efforts to educate citizens and residents via the data and tweets issued by it as well as the visits conducted by it to a number of isolation and quarantine centres to review the procedures taken by those bodies to provide medical services to the infected and those in direct contact, pointing out at the same time the precautionary measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to preserve the right of everyone to health, taking into consideration the human rights in accordance with the international standards in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

For her part, Mrs. Nardi expressed her appreciation for the tireless efforts made by the NIHR for the promotion and protection of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising at the same time the Kingdom’s efforts to promote peace in the region, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
