NIHR Chairperson highly values the Royal Directives to provide Housing Services to Families of some Convicts and Beneficiaries of “Alternative Sanctions”

Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), highly valued the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, and the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the provision of housing services to the families of some convicts and beneficiaries of the alternative sanctions and measures program in order to preserve the Bahraini family and the social fabric.

He said, “This royal initiative clearly reflects the wise leadership’s comprehensive concept of human value and continuous approach to supporting members of various society groups, in order to ensure family stability and social cohesion, regardless of religion, colour, culture, belief and race”, stressing that the unlimited concern of His Majesty the King for citizens, being the main element in the comprehensive development process, as well as the diligent follow-up by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the needs of citizens, and his constant efforts to preserve national unity, gains and achievements to reach a better future for the homeland and the citizen, is a matter of pride.

Al-Derazi pointed out that the NIHR Council of Commissioners was briefed on the royal directives during the 6th regular meeting that was held yesterday, and praised this humanitarian initiative, which came in observance of the social dimension, stating the NIHR’s full support for everything that would contribute to the provision of housing and adequate shelter, which is of fundamental importance to the individual’s enjoyment of all economic, social and cultural rights, as affirmed by national constitutions, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
