NIHR Chairperson Receives Acting Resident Representative of the UNDP

Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), held a meeting with Mr. Firas Gharaibeh, Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of Chancellor Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, Secretary General of the NIHR, and Mrs. Anisa Waliji, Specialist in Rule of Law, Security and Human Rights Programmes at the UNDP, where aspects of joint cooperation between the two sides were discussed in areas related to human rights and sustainable development programmes.

During the meeting, Alderazi stated the NIHR’s keenness to consolidate areas of cooperation with the UN and its affiliate bodies, with a view to benefiting from the distinguished experiences, and enhancing joint cooperation in establishing joint training programmes. 

For his part, Mr. Gharaibeh expressed his aspiration for more cooperation between the two sides, appreciating the efforts made by the NIHR to contribute to achieving sustainable development goals and promoting a culture of human rights that serves the work of the human rights system in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
