The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has participated in Bahrain Summer annual festival in its 12th edition for the year 2020, under the theme of “Together Virtually”, in coincidence with the program of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities this year under the slogan “Dilmun: Land of Density.”.  Due to the exceptional circumstances witnessed by the world, namely the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19), the festival was organized through virtual electronic space, which made it reach all parts of the world through social media, where the festival contained a lot of diverse activities, including concert shows, educational and creative workshops, tours and publications of books on children’s rights.

During its participation in the one-month festival, the NIHR published a coloring book on children’s rights, which addresses children about their rights in simple language and with beautiful drawings that combine entertainment and education.  Everyone may get their copies of the coloring book by visiting the festival’s link:  (http://bahrainsummer.bh/nihr-coloring-book/).

On this occasion, Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the NIHR, commended the virtual organization of the Bahrain Summer festival this year, in compliance with the precautionary measures and the rules of social distancing, in light of the exceptional circumstances witnessed by the whole world, praising the role and efforts of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, chaired by Her Excellency Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammad Al- Khalifa, in the preservation of the cultural movement in Bahrain and the enhancement of communication between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the States of the world, expressing her happiness that the NIHR is one of the contributors to enriching the program and activities of the festival by promoting the culture of human rights and spreading awareness about it.  The festival was also attended by a number of embassies and public and private institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
