NIHR receives Ambassador of Italy
Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received the Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Mr. Domenico Bellato. The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdulla Alderazi, NIHR's Vice Chairperson, and Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al Fadhel, NIHR's Secretary General. Ms. Maria Khoury welcomed Mr. Bellato, commending the strong and distinguished relations between the two friendly countries, promoted by joint cooperation in various fields.
Ms. Khoury reviewed a number of human rights issues and the role of the NIHR in dealing with them in accordance with its terms of reference, and stressed the importance of enhancing means of mutual cooperation and exchanging experiences and expertise in human rights issues to support efforts to achieve common goals.
For his part, Mr. Bellato valued the important role played by the NIHR in the human rights area and its efforts to perform its social responsibilities in a great and distinguished manner.
