NIHR receives Representative of Embassy of Sweden
Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Mrs. Anna Springfors, Senior Secretary of Administrative and Political Affairs of the Embassy of Sweden. Ms. Maria Khoury welcomed Mrs. Anna Springfors and presented a summary of the work of the NIHR pursuant to its Incorporation Law and its most prominent achievements, including NIHR’s efforts in activating joint action to implement the goals of sustainable development and their relation to human rights, especially with regard to the rights of persons with disabilities in health and education, in addition to the training and educational programs provided by the NIHR to promote the culture of human rights.
During the meeting, Ms. Khoury also gave a brief on the nature of the work of the NIHR’s committees, especially with regard to the advisory opinions it provides to the Shura Council and the House of Representatives, attending trial sessions, the mechanism of receiving complaints and dealing with them and the declared and undeclared visits performed by it.
