NIHR inaugurates Initiative to report Violations of the Afternoon Outdoor Work Ban

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) inaugurated an initiative to report violations resulting from the employment of workers who are required to work outdoor in the afternoon in in exposed places from 12 noon to 4 pm during July and August, in violation of the Minister of Labor and Social Development’s Resolution No. (3) of 2013.

Everyone can monitor the violations, determine their location and time, and publish them on social networks using the hashtag #guarantee your right.  The news and information material can also be shared through the NIHR’s WhatsApp on 17111666, and these violations can be reported through the toll-free hotline 80001144.

Ms. Maria Khouri, President of the NIHR, called on employers to respect the law, protect the rights of workers, create a decent work environment and provide the necessary measures to adapt to the Resolution in accordance with international standards, praising the Minister of Labor's Resolution No. (3) of 2013, which is one of the indicators reflecting the culture of human rights, in general and workers' rights in particular.

This initiative is aimed at enhancing community culture to support workers’ rights in support of the Government’s efforts to address any violations.
