NIHR Conducts a Field Visit to Hidd Rehabilitation Centre for Special Needs

A delegation from the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has visited Hidd Rehabilitation Centre for Special Needs that affiliates to UCO Elderly Care Centre, where they were briefed on the services provided by the centre in accordance with the quality levels in providing educational and rehabilitation services for people with mental disabilities and Down Syndrome.

During the visit, the delegation listened to an explanation of the Centre’s services and programmes and was briefed on matters related to equipping educational facilities and classes and practical skills to encourage people with disabilities to respond effectively in a way that contributes to achieving the desired goals to integrate them into the society.


It is worth noting that this visit falls within the framework of the principle of community partnership with educational institutions and within the NIHR’s action plan to inspect the care and rehabilitation services and programmes provided by these centres, and to closely examine the extent of their commitment to implementing standards related to the protection and promotion of human rights.
