The Secretariat-General of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has participated in public discussion works on the “Discrimination against Women and Girls”, organised by the UN Working Group on Discrimination against Women or Girls and the Asia-Pacific Forum (APF).

The event, which was held with the participation of a number of experts and practitioners related to human rights, aims to review the opinions of experts and workers in the Asia-Pacific Forum (APF) and the national human rights institutions, regarding the discrimination against women or girls, being the group that has become threatened under the conditions of Covid-19 due to the reassessment of dominant ideologies.

The event concluded by proposing a number of recommendations for states and stakeholders to protect the social and economic security of women and girls, and to consider in particular the report to be submitted to the UN Summit 2023 in order to fill these gaps and formulate recommendations for a gender and equitable reshaping of the post-pandemic world, and to support, enhance and ensure social and economic human security for women and girls.
