NIHR participates in the Model United Nations (MUN) conference

Dr. Hooria Hassan, representing the National Institution for Human Rights as the Children's Rights Commissioner, took part in the Model United Nations conference organized by The International School of Choueifat in Bahrain. Over 500 students from various schools participated in this event.

During her speech, Dr. Hooria Hassan gave an introductory overview of the National Institution for Human Rights, highlighting its role in promoting and safeguarding human rights across Bahrain. She specifically outlined the responsibilities of the Commissioner for Children's Rights and emphasized their efforts in advancing and protecting the rights of children within the kingdom. Furthermore, she discussed key concepts pertaining to human rights and children's rights as outlined in international and national treaties and agreements.

This participation underscores the commitment of the NIHR to collaborate with educational institutions in Bahrain to raise awareness about children's rights. It also aligns with the institution's strategy and action plan aimed at disseminating the principles of human rights throughout society.
