In line with its role in the dissemination and promotion of the culture of human rights among different groups of society, the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) organized an introductory lecture on "NIHR's Role in Promotion and Protection of Human Rights in Bahrain" for students of Human Rights Diploma (5th batch) and students of Social Service Diploma in Security Institutions (2nd batch), in partnership with the Royal Academy of Police (RAP).

The lecture was presented by Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the NIHR, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Najjar, Head of the Legal Affairs Unit.  It focused on the NIHR's role in the promotion and protection of human rights in Bahrain, its mechanisms for receiving complaints and the difference between the NIHR and other national mechanisms.

On this occasion, Ms. Khoury stated that the implementation of such introductory lectures will have many positive implications on the members of the security institutions by raising their awareness in building a culture of peace and human rights, appreciating the effective cooperation between the NIHR and the RAP.
