NIHR participates in the International Conference on the Role of the National Institutions in the Follow-up on the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) participated in the international conference on “The Role of National Institutions in the Follow-up on the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals organized by the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions in coordination with the Egyptian National Council for Human Rights in Sharm El-Sheikh, where the NIHR was represented by Mr. Badie Jbail, Senior Researcher at the NIHR’s Complaints and Monitoring Unit.

The two-day conference focused on “The Role of National Human Rights Institutions in the Implementation and Follow-up of Sustainable Development Goals – Harmonization of Laws and Policies relating to Sustainable Development Goals.

At the conclusion of the conference, a number of recommendations were made on the mechanism of action of national institutions and their cooperation with Governments, civil society institutions and international bodies and organizations, as well as the challenges facing organizations, relevant UN bodies and stakeholders.
