National Institution for Human Rights holding a consultative meeting with a number of representatives of civil society institutions.
In furtherance of enhancing collaboration with civil society entities, Eng. Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, the NIHR Chairperson, convened several consultative sessions with civil society representatives.
These meetings, held at the NIHR headquarters in Seef district and attended by members of the Council of Commissioners and the Secretary-General, facilitated discussions on various human rights issues. The participants explored avenues for bolstering cooperation, including joint training initiatives aimed at fostering a human rights culture and reinforcing societal respect for human rights. Additionally, strategies for capacity-building through collaborative events and panel discussions, as well as increasing visibility of national human rights endeavors, were deliberated.
Among the attendees were Ms. Dina Al-Ladhi, President of the Manama Centre for Human Rights; Mr. Ali Tulfat, representing the Human Rights Observatory Association; Mr. Mohammed Al-Sahli, representing the Bahrain Human Rights Watch; and Dr. Fahd al-Shehabi, President of the Bahraini Public Relations Society.
