NIHR Receives Ambassador of Germany

Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), has met at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef District Mr. Kai Bochmann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting was attended by Mr. Wimar Grohe, Deputy Ambassador and Counselor-at-Law Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, Secretary-General of the NIHR,

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Derazi welcomed Mr. Bochmann, underscoring the close and distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the friendly Federal Republic of Germany, and the development and growth they are witnessing at various levels.  During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation and exchange expertise between the two sides, especially in establishing a number of joint training programs aimed at promoting human rights concepts, which aim to develop the capabilities of members and staff on the one hand, or raise awareness of the public through topics related to human rights principles and concepts on the other.

For his part, Mr. Bochmann expressed pleasure at meeting Al-Derazi and commended the efforts of the NIHR and its important role in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, wishing for increased coordination between the two sides through programs aimed at spreading a culture of human rights, in a way that meets common aspirations and goals.
