Ms. Maria Khouri, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), stated that the establishment of special premises for the family courts will guarantee the required privacy and confidentiality, by taking the family disputes away from the criminal and misdemeanors court buildings, which will significantly contribute to upgrading the judicial system in the Kingdom of Bahrain to the interest and stability of families.

During her participation in the opening ceremony of the Family Courts Complex, inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King’s and President of the Supreme Council for Women, Ms. Khouri affirmed that this honorable national achievement strengthens the Kingdom's high standing among the developed and civilized countries of the world, which wouldn’t have been achieved if it hadn’t been for the keenness of His Majesty the King to stress the role of the Bahraini family and its main component, namely "Women", in particular, as one of the important pillars of the Reform Project, and the efforts of HH the King's wife to support women's issues in all its forms for a stable society that gives the Bahraini family the status it deserves, which is another milestone on the road to progress that puts the kingdom in the ranks of countries supporting rights and freedoms and enhances its position on the world map.

She added that this step also confirms the Kingdom’s keenness to provide a legislative cover that protects the family and its stability based upon the Constitution, since the family is the basis of society and is based upon religion, mortality and patriotism.
