NIHR's chairperson receives the Regional Advisor of the Office of the UNOHCHR
Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) received at NIHR's headquarters in the Seef District Ms. Nada Darwazeh, Regional Advisor on Gender and Women's Rights at the office of United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights,
At the beginning of the meeting, H.E The NIHR Chairperson welcomed Ms. Darwazeh, and brief her on the role undertaken by the NIHR in the field of promoting and protecting human rights. Moreover, the two sides addressed aspects of mutual cooperation between the NIHR and the UNOHCHR in the field of capacity building and exchange of experiences at the level of protecting and enhancing the respect for human rights, and the essential requirements for enabling the NIHR to carry out its effective role in enhancing and protecting human rights.
For her part, Ms. Darwazeh extended her thanks to the NIHR for the warm hospitality, asserting that the UNOHCHR is fully ready to support the work of the NIHR in the field of human rights through providing training programs and means of support and advocacy to help the NIHR achieve its objectives.
The meeting was attended by the HE Counselor-at-Law Yasser Shaheen, NIHR's Acting Secretary- General.
