NIHR Meets Students of Al-Shrooq Secondary Girls School

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) received at its headquarters in the Seef District a number of students from Al-Shrooq Secondary Girls School as part of the role undertaken by the NIHR in disseminating and enhancing the culture of respect for human rights among society individuals, and in order to enhance community partnership between the NIHR and various schools of Bahrain at various stages.

The NIHR’s Chairperson Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul stressed the importance of the aim of this visit saying that, “It’s always a pleasure to welcome school students, our sons and daughters, to witness the fruits of the reform project of His Majesty the King, may God protect him, namely the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), and to introduce to them the most important values and principles that develop their human rights awareness and their duties towards themselves and towards our beloved country, and we wish this visit will benefit everybody”.

The event was opened by Director of Training and Education Mr. Ali Jasim Al-Bahar, who welcomed the students and stressed the importance of such visits which contribute to the increase in the level of human rights awareness.  He addressed various human rights issues in general and child rights in particular, referring to how to protect and enhance child rights as well as the NIHR’s role in the protection thereof.  The event included a discussion with the students and answering their questions.

This event comes within the NIHR’s terms of reference in the field of dissemination and enhancement of human rights through lectures, training and educational courses to all segments of society.
