NIHR Receives a Delegation from the US House of Representatives and Senate Staff

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has received a delegation of staff of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the friendly United States of America, as part of a visit by the delegation to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the NIHR, has briefed the delegation on some of the human rights gains that have been achieved in the Kingdom of Bahrain during the past stage, mainly the establishment of the NIHR, in light of the prosperous era and the comprehensive development march witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was achieved through the course of human rights and democratic work under the leadership of His Majesty the King of the State, in accordance with international standards and national methodology.

The delegation was also briefed on an introductory presentation on the NIHR, its oversight role in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the services it provides to citizens and residents, as well as mechanisms of communication and building bridges with regional and international human rights organisations.

During the meeting, Al-Derazi and a number of members of NIHR Council of Commissioners answered all delegation’s inquiries about the NIHR and its role in dealing with issues related to Human Rights.
