NIHR Participates in a Human Rights Lecture in Al-Jazeera Cultural Center

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), represented by NIHR Vice chairperson Mr. Abdullah Al-Derazi, participated in a lecture on human rights, which was organized by Al-Jazeera Cultural Center, in which NIHR Vice chairperson spoke about NIHR’s history of establishment and role in the protection and enhancement of human rights, in the presence of Head of NIHR council of Commissioners Dr. Abdul-Aziz Hassan Abul and member of NIHR council of Commissioners Mr. Farid Ghazi.

NIHR Vice chairperson discussed the recent modifications to the NIHR’s Establishment Law, by virtue of the Decree – Law No. 20 of 2016, which corresponded with the feedbacks of the Subcommittee on Accreditation, as well as the most prominent points in the NIHR’s annual report, indicating that the report was based upon the principle of transparency and independence, for the benefit and interest of our dear country.

This visit comes within the framework of the field visits made by the NIHR. Which aim to review its activities and services in the area of human rights protection and enhancement.
