NIHR discusses its Plan to conduct Field Visits to Quarantine Centers

Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), held a teleconference with Mr. Khaled Alshaer, Vice-Chairperson of the NIHR, and
Dr. Malallah Alhammadi, Chairperson of the NIHR’s Committee on Detention & Facilities Visitation, discussing the NIHR’s action plan to conduct field visits to quarantine centers and to meet medical teams and some of the isolated and quarantine ones, in order to ensure that the measures taken watch the right to health and humanitarian care and to closely review the various support services provided to them, in line with the preventive measures adopted by the World Health Organization.

During the meeting, everyone stressed the importance of ensuring the observance of the various human rights of the isolated and quarantined ones and the staff in the centers, mainly the right to health and the right to personal freedom, praising at the same time the State's care for the right to health, and the great efforts made by the government aimed at ensuring the provision of food, water, and healthcare for all citizens and residents.
