03 Jul 2021

In line with the role entrusted to it within its work in the field of promotion and protecting fundamental human rights and freedoms, and the importance of the right to a risk-free and safe work environment, the National institution for Human Rights (NIHR) launched an initiative to report violations of the employment of workers whose nature of work requires exposure to the sun and in open places between 12 noon and 4 pm during July and August, in execution of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Resolution No. (3) of 2013 on the prohibition of working at noon in open places during the stated ban hours.

Everyone can monitor violations, determine their location and time and publish them on social networks using the hashtag #GuaranteeYourRights.  Violations and media materials can also be shared through the NIHR WhatsApp 17111666 or reported via the toll-free hotline 80001144.

Through this initiative, which aims to raising the community culture to support workers’ rights in support of the government efforts to address any abuses, the NIHR calls on employers to respect the law, protect workers’ rights, provide them a decent work environment and provide the necessary measures to adapt to the resolution in accordance with international standards.
