NIHR receives Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Bangladesh

Ms. Maria Khouri, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received Sheikh Mohamed Tawhid Islam, Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Present were Mr. Khalid Abdul-Aziz Al-Shaer, NIHR’s Vice Chairperson, Dr. Malallah Jaffar Al-Hammadi, Member of the NIHR’s Council of Commissioners and Counselor-at-law Yasser Ghanim Shaheen, NIHR’s Secretary-General.

During the meeting, Ms. Khouri welcomed Mr. Islam and gave a brief on the NIHR and its role in spreading and protecting human rights as well as its most prominent achievements and efforts in activating joint work to implement Sustainable Development Goals and their relationship to human rights, stressing the NIHR’s role through its branch in the Migrant Workers Service and Support Center at the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, with the importance of informing the residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain to their rights through the role entrusted to the NIHR in its Incorporation Law.

 

For his part, the Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Bangladesh expressed his deep thanks to the Chairperson of the NIHR for the good reception and appreciated the

 

NIHR’s achievements that contributed to the development of the level of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its keenness to deal with the challenges in partnership with all the national mechanisms and executive and legislative bodies.
