The National Institution for Human Rights welcomes the comprehensive royal decree to pardon (1584) convicts
The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) welcomed the royal decree issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, pardoning (1584) inmates who have been convicted for riot and criminal cases, on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of His Majesty’s accession to the throne and Eid Al Fitr.
Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, the Chairperson of NIHR, expressed appreciation, on his behalf and the members of the Council of Commissioners of the NIHR, to His Majesty for this humanitarian initiative.
Alderazi emphasised the importance of the royal decree in enhancing the cohesion and stability of Bahraini society, while protecting its social fabric, upholding the public interest, safeguarding individual and civil rights, and adhering to the principles of justice, the rule of law, and the preservation of judicial independence.
