NIHR Concludes a Training Program for NIA Employees

The National institution for Human Rights (NIHR) has concluded is 4-week training program in its 4th edition for National Intelligence Agency (NIA) employees in cooperation with the NIA Inspector-General’s office. Training, which was conducted by videoconference, included a series of lectures on human rights.

The lectures were presented by a number of human rights and legal specialists.  They dealt with the NIHR’s Role in the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, Human Rights Concepts between International and National Law, Human Rights Guarantees regulating the Right to Physical and Moral Integrity, the UN Rules on the Rights of Persons with Restricted Freedom and the Established Guarantees for Persons with Restricted Freedom in the Correction and Rehabilitation Institution Law and Executive Regulation.

The program is an activation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the NIHR and the NIA Inspector-General’s Office, with a view to enhancing awareness of human rights principles for law enforcement staff of security agencies.
