NIHR receives Ambassadors of France and Germany

Ms. Maria Khoury, Chairperson of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), received in her office Mrs. Cécile Longé, Ambassador of the French Republic, and Mr. Kai Boeckmann, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, to the Kingdom of Bahrain. Present were Mr. Abdulla Alderazi, NIHR’s Vice chairperson, and Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al Fadhel NIHR’s Secretary General.  During the meeting, Ms. Maria Khoury praised the depth and strength of the relations of Bahrain with the two friendly countries and the remarkable growth witnessed by it in various areas.

Ms. Khoury also presented a summary of the most prominent achievements and challenges in the human rights area in Bahrain, and the NIHR’s role in dealing with them, which contributes to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s being a pioneering model in the human rights practice.

For their part, the two Ambassadors welcomed the NIHR’s humanitarian role, commending the NIHR’s Secretariat General for obtaining the ISO certificate as the first institution in this field at the regional level, stressing the importance of activating cooperation through coordination between the two countries in the human rights field for the benefit of everybody.
