NIHR Council of Commissioners Convenes its 10th Regular Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Council of Commissioners convened its 10th regular meeting at the NIHR’s headquarters in the Seef District under chairpersonship of its President Dr. Abdulaziz Hassan Abul.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairperson welcomed the participation of members of the Council of Commissioners in the events and activities on human rights recently. After that, Head of NIHR Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Ms. Maria Khouri discussed the complaints received by the NIHR and the actions taken thereupon in addition to the applications for legal assistance and monitoring cases via local press and social media.
Afterwards, NIHR Council of Commissioners reviewed the draft of the new Bylaw on the organization and work of the Council of Commissioners based upon the Decree – Law No. (20) of 2016 to modify some of the provisions of Law No. (26) of 2014 on the establishment of the NIHR, where members discussed its articles and gave their feedback. In addition, they discussed a number of the proposed modifications of Staff Affairs List of NIHR General Secretariat, for which the appropriate decisions were made.
