NIHR Board holds 14th Meeting

The Board of Directors of the National Institution for Human Rights held its 14th Meeting under the Chairmanship of the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee, Abdullah Ahmad Alderazi at its Seef headquarters.
The Board heard a briefing on the House of Representatives session held on April 29, 2014, on the passage of the National Foundation for Human Rights Law and its submission to the Shura Council for its opinion.
A briefing on the activities for a technical cooperation and capacity building programme, in the field of promotion and protection of human rights in Bahrain, was given after attending a meeting of the High Commissioner for Human Rights held in cooperation with the National Foundation for Human Rights, from April 10 to 29, 2014.
The Board reviewed the arrangements for the NIHR international conference on the Arab Court of Human Rights, to be held from May 25 to 26 at the Bahrain Ritz Carlton Hotel and Spa.
The Board was also briefed on letters received from the House of Representatives and the Shura Council on the proposed amendments to a number of national laws and legislations related to human rights.
