NIHR Board holds Ninth Meeting

The Board of Directors of the National Institution for Human Rights held its Ninth Ordinary Meeting under the chairmanship of its Vice President Abdullah Ahmad Alderazi at its headquarters in Seef District on November 26, 2013.
The meeting reviewed the monthly complaints and requests for assistance received by the Monitoring and Follow-up Committee and actions taken.
A training programme for members of the Board, organized at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom. to discuss and debate human rights issues, was also the subject of discussion.
Members discussed candidates for membership of the Rights of Prisoners and Detainees Committee and stressed on the importance of nominations being submitted by December 5, 2013, so that necessary action could be taken according to the Decree No. 61 for 2013 to establish and determine the terms of reference of prisoners and detainees rights commission.
The Board decided to hold its next Ordinary Meeting on December 30.
