Meeting

Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairperson of the National institution for Human Rights (NIHR), chaired the 4^th meeting of the NIHR Council of Commissioners, in the presence of Mr. Khaled Al-Sha’er, NIHR Vice-Chairperson and Head of the NIHR Committee on Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up, Dr. Fawzeya Al-Saleh, Head of the NIHR Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms, Dr. Malallah Al-Hammadi, Head of the NIHR Committee on Visiting Detention Places and Facilities, and Chancellor Yasser Shaheen, NIHR Secretary-General.

During the meeting, the participants followed-up on the submittal of the NIHR 8^th annual report 2020 to official authorities and the actions taken.  The NIHR Chairperson also gave an overview of his participation in monitoring the Russian parliamentary elections at the invitation of the High Commission of Human Rights in the Russian Federation.

Al-Derazi also briefed the members on the results of the current visit of the delegation of the High Commission for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, in addition to the Board’s approval of a number of activities and programs that the NIHR will implement during the remainder of this year.
