The twentieth regular meeting of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Council of Commissioners Bureau, chaired by Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, included the participation of the Vice Chairperson and the heads of the NIHR standing committees, with the Child Rights Commissioner, and the Secretary General in attendance.

The meeting commenced with in-depth discussions on various crucial topics concerning the ongoing progress and forward-looking strategies of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), which are pivotal to advancing the human rights framework as part of His Majesty the King's reform initiatives. There was a thorough review of the achievements in strengthening collaborations with civil society organizations and international human rights bodies, which have significantly benefited both the institution and the Kingdom.

During the meeting, the council approved a plan to organize educational lectures detailing the institution's roles, responsibilities, and authority. These lectures are intended for employees, counselors, and supervisors at social care centers managed by the Department of Social Development. They will cover the rights and obligations of juveniles under the Juvenile Justice Reform Law and extend support to those working with other vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities and the elderly.

The meeting concluded with the council reaffirming NIHR’s commitment to boosting transparency and accountability. The council also underscored its dedication to ongoing efforts aimed at achieving strategic objectives that strengthen the human rights infrastructure in the Kingdom, thereby ensuring maximal benefits for all community members.
