19 Mar 2025

The twenty fourth regular meeting of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Council of Commissioners Bureau, chaired by Eng. Ali Ahmed Alderazi, included the participation of the Vice Chairperson and the heads of the NIHR standing committees, and the Secretary General in attendance.
The Council's office initiated the meeting by reviewing the implementation of newly introduced mechanisms for preparing periodic and annual reports of the institution. These mechanisms aim to highlight progress in the country's human rights field and enhance the institution's capacity to achieve its goals.
The discussion also covered ways to strengthen strategic partnerships with civil society institutions concerned with human rights. Proposals were made to form joint task forces focusing on the right to health, environmental issues, and the rights of women and children. These task forces aim to deepen human rights awareness and tackle related challenges.
Moreover, the office discussed proposals to increase collaboration with law enforcement sectors such as the Ministry of Interior, the Public Prosecution, and the judiciary. This would be achieved through joint training programs that aim to bolster the culture of human rights in our beloved kingdom.
