Meeting

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Commissioners Bureau has convened its 11^th regular meeting, under the chairpersonship of Eng. Ali Ahmed Al-Derazi, Chairman of the NIHR. The meeting was attended by heads of NIHR’s permanent committees.

At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Derazi has presented a brief on the NIHR’s participation in the 41^st session of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Geneva, stating that the NIHR has submitted its parallel report to the UPR Working Group, which contained a number of recommendations that enhance the concepts of human rights and are compatible with international standards, especially social justice, citizenship, child rights, family rights, the right to work, accession to international treaties and instruments concerned with human rights or related to combating trafficking in persons, and the support for human rights defenders.
