Meeting

Chaired by Dr. Fawzia Saeed Al Saleh, General Rights and Freedoms Committee held its forty-sixth meeting. The meeting began with a discussion of the results of field visits conducted by committee members to Wadi AlBuhair to review measures taken to reduce environmental pollution in the area, and to the pre-trial detention center in the Dry Dock to discuss various issues related to the rights and duties of inmates and detainees.

Furthermore, the committee discussed the strategic axes and the action plan of the NIHR for the years 2022 – 2025 with the goal of developing comprehensive proposals for activities and programs in the human rights sector, and to highlight the role played by the National Institution in protecting and enhancing these rights and establishing them on the ground.
