NIHR’s Committee on Public Rights and Freedoms Convenes its 41st Regular Meeting

Under the leadership of Dr. Fawzia Saeed Al Saleh, and with Dr. Badr Mohammed Adel present, the committee commenced its meeting by discussing the actions taken concerning its previous decisions and recommendations, particularly those pertaining to its proposal to organize an educational lecture for child care counselors, supervisors, and specialists in social care centers under the Ministry of Social Development. The lecture aims to emphasize the role of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) in enhancing and protecting human rights overall, and children's rights specifically, in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Reform Law and protection against maltreatment.
Additionally, the committee reviewed various opinions and advisory remarks from the House of Representatives concerning the amendment of specific legal provisions and the introduction of new articles. It considered a proposal to examine several national laws and regulations currently in force in the Kingdom of Bahrain to ensure they are in line with international and regional legislation and global human rights standards.
