Civil & Political Rights Committee - 16 ordinary meeting

Civil and Political Rights Committee of the National Institution for Human Rights held its 16th ordinary meeting on Thursday, October 2, 2014 Headed by HE Ms. Jamila Ali Salman, and the membership of HE Mr. Farid Ghazi Rafie.
During the meeting, they discussed a comparative study on some Arab and foreign countries that have ratified the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the amendments done to their local legislation, particularly with regard to the identification of juvenile age. They also discussed the practical reality with respect to separating juveniles by age group in detention centers. Thursday, November 6, 2014 was decided as the date to hold its next meeting.
