Meeting

The NIHR’s Committee on Civil and Political Rights held its first meeting on Thursday, February 14, 2013 under the chairmanship of Ms. Jamila Ali Salman, and the meeting was also attended by HE Mr. Farid Ghazi Rafeea and HE Mr. Abdul Jabbar Ahmed al-Tayeb at the NIHR headquarters at the Seef District.

During the meeting, the terms of reference of the Committee were approved in accordance with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The Committee also discussed the issue of developing a work strategy to communicate with relevant civil society institutions in accordance with the terms of reference of the Committee and based on the order Royal Order No. (46) for 2009, as amended by the Royal Order No. (28) for 2012, on the establishment of the NIHR. The Committee made a number of recommendations, which will be submitted to the meeting of the Council of Commissioners due to be held the end of the month of February.
